MacroDay guide
Start with a food you already saved, search the catalog, scan a supported barcode, or read a Nutrition Facts label on your iPhone. Whichever route you choose, review the serving and nutrition before saving.
Saved foods and confident bundled catalog matches work locally.
Use a supported retail barcode or an English Nutrition Facts label.
Confirm the source, serving, and nutrition values before saving.
MacroDay checks its bundled USDA common-food catalog first. When there is no confident offline match, it may send the search text to Open Food Facts to look for a packaged product. Results identify whether the source is USDA FoodData Central, a saved food, a MacroDay-verified label, or community-supplied Open Food Facts data.
MacroDay supports 8- to 14-digit retail barcodes in the formats available to its scanner. If a code is valid but the product is not found, the app offers Nutrition Facts scanning or manual entry.
Text recognition runs on the device. MacroDay does not retain or transmit camera images. Camera scanning depends on device support and availability; manual entry remains available when it cannot be used.
Food databases and label recognition can be incomplete or out of date. Check the current package label, correct the saved food in My Foods when needed, and consult a qualified professional for medical or individualized nutrition advice.
